An FIR has been registered against him by the Lokayukta police in connection with a housing scam. The timing of this case is interesting as the complaint was lodged by Vinod Kumar, an advocate, six months ago. It was alleged that there were irregularities in an allotment by the housing board.

Justice K N Keshavanarayan rejected the applications filed by Kumaraswamy and his wife Anita for staying the proceedings before the Lokayukta special court. The Lokayukta court had on August 8 issued summons to Kumaraswamy and his wife, asking them to appear before it.
